This peak is not in the book.
Haystack Mountain is located northwest of Salmon, Idaho. This section of the Salmon River Mountains is comprised of long, tree-covered ridges without any interesting peaks. Although I hiked to its summit and it is named on the map, I did not put it into the book because it is not much of a peak and because USFS roads lead nearly to its broad, forested summit. The crux of the climb is determining the high point. Yes, this is a peakbagger’s confession. I climbed it because it was a named summit. Find a peakbagger without a summit on their list that embarrasses them if you can. USGS Pine Creek Ridge
