The Climb

This route is the final leg of a ridge traverse from Conical Top Peak. It begins at the 9,400-foot saddle that connects Bull Peak to Conical Top Peak. From the saddle, establish a line that aims for the ridge saddle between Point 9802 and Bull Peak. Scramble northwest through open, grassy terrain and then a short section of forest. The side-hilling here isn’t too bad. You might just get lucky and find some bull elk bedded down in the forested area, as I did. I doubt that there’s much human activity up here. The terrain turns rocky after you exit the patch of forest and you approach the 9,740-foot saddle. From the rocky, narrow saddle, scramble up a mix of trees, talus, and boulders to reach the small, rocky summit of Bull Peak.
