Peak 7217 is located in at the south end of the Pleasantview Hills, west of MLD Benchmark and north of ID-38. USGS Ireland Springs
Access and Route, Class 1
Primary access for this peak from ID-38, 0.5 miles west of Holbrook Summit. Turn onto the well-constructed gravel road that leads to the FAA facility on the summit of MLD Benchmark (see the map below). The road leads to the saddle between the two peaks. Note that there are several tight switchbacks along the way that could cause problems for passenger cars. A 4WD road leaves the saddle and climbs up to the peak’s summit. There is a rocky step in this road that will be difficult for most drivers to negotiate. I recommend walking the road. Round trip from the saddle is only 1.4 miles with 300 feet of elevation gain.
